Product Description

  • This Z33 350z LS swap adapter kit will allow you to mate a Nissan 350Z (Z33) 6 speed transmission to an LS Series (i.e.; 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, and 6.2 liter gen III or IV Vortec engines).
  • These transmissions were available from 2003-2006 in Nissan 350Zs.
  • The kit includes a custom steel flywheel, 3/8" steel powder coated adapter plate, pilot bushing adapter, hi-torque starter adapter (Use your existing hi-torque mini starter, or purchase separate.) and hardware.
  • The flywheel can be used with any OEM or aftermarket 350Z clutch assembly.
  • It is a direct bolt-on flywheel made for billet steel and weighs 30 lbs.
  • The kit uses a stock 350Z pilot bushing with a machined steel adapter (both included).
  • The starter adapter on the Z33 kits utilizes a Small Block Chevy (SBC) mini starter (GF-MS-SBC) available from G Force.
  • This kit requires no Z33 transmission modifications, with the exception of some heavy wall bellhousings which may require a slight clearance trim for the flywheel ring gear. The trim involves polishing away 0.06" over an area not much larger than a postage stamp.)
  • The LS block requires the removal of a small casting boss to provide clearance for your high torque starter. This is a simple modification with a hand grinder. Detailed instructions provided with your purchase.
  • Use standard GM specs when tightening to the LS crank, block, etc. Use Nissan specs when tightening the pressure plate, etc.

Great kit for the money

Love the kit. Bolts right up. No real need for fab work. Trying to find the right shims for the starter can be a pain. I like that you can use factory nissan clutches, makes the headache of finding a good clutch setup easier.

Major issue I have is that this kit REQUIRES buying a new starter (a chevy small block style universal starter. No big deal)... the main issue being that the adapter plate brings the starter so far towards the block that it's impossible to find a dipstick that fits in a truck block. I've spent easily $200 on 6 different types of dip sticks. F body, truck, flexible, shorty, none of the dipsticks work. It leaks oil constantly, and the only real solution is to put a plug in there and remove the starter every time you need to check the oil, or buy an entirely new oil pan that has the dipstick hole in the pan, and plug the block for good... wasted a TON of time and money with trial and error trying to correct a problem that honestly just seems like it wasn't thought out.

All the pieces fit well and bolted right together with no fuss. As the car is still under construction and won't actually be running for a while, I can't provide any further info at this point.

Worked great and the steel

Worked great, and the steel flywheel is definitely the way to go! I can't believe the way my car launches!
